Official statement: Inzaghi will remain at Inter until 2026 "and hopefully beyond"
While Inter's official contract with coach Simone Inzaghi has been extended until June 2026, the club's president, Beppe Marotta, says the organization "hopes to continue even more into the future.
After Antonio Conte won the Scudetto and left, the tactician assumed control in the summer of 2021.
With the team, Inzaghi has already won six trophies in just three years, including the Serie A championship, two Coppa Italia titles, and three straight Supercoppa Italiana cups.
Just before pre-season training began this afternoon, President Marotta made the announcement at the outset of a press conference.
"It's been a very short time since the end of an incredible season in which we took home the Scudetto and Supercoppa trophies."We are starting a new journey together today, and the Tricolore badge and second star will be on our jersey. Simone Inzaghi will be leading the team once more alongside us.
"I would like to formally declare that our relationship will last until June 2026, and we hope to have even more in the future."
Marotta reassures Inter fans about Inzaghi and the future.
After Suning and the Zhang family lost control of Inter to investment fund Oaktree due to nonpayment of a debt, Marotta was elevated to the position of President.
Marotta went on, "Oaktree immediately demonstrated their desire to keep the club at the top of Italian and European football."
"The majority shareholder pledged to manage the club consistently and steadily, emphasizing the importance of preserving the highest level of sporting competition and advancing the club's financial stability."
"This is the best assurance that Inter and its wonderful supporters can have that it can accomplish more significant goals."
Inter has been successfully using sales and free agents to finance their transfer strategy on their own for a number of years.
This summer will see more of the same, as they have already recruited Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski when their contracts with FC Porto and Napoli expired, respectively.
